WANTED - Ward 1 Ward Clerk

The City of Franklin is seeking a citizen to fill the vacancy of the Ward Clerk for Ward 1.  This is an elected paid position; knowledge of election laws and procedures is a plus; however, training is available. Attendance at all Elections is required.

The Ward Clerk takes the place of the City Clerk at the polls. Examples of duties include but are not limited to the following: counting the ballots prior to the elections, keeping track of the count throughout the election day, distributing ballots to the Ballot Clerks on election day, provides assistance to voters if needed and assists the Moderator with counting the ballots at the end of the night and completing the necessary paperwork. 

The right candidate will be a team player, with good communication skills, is organized, and has the ability to understand and enforce the NH election laws. This is an elected position with a 2-year term. Because this position is open between City elections, the City Council will appoint a candidate until the next election in October 2020 at which time the appointed candidate may choose to run for the position. 

Applicants also must be a registered voter and a Ward 1 resident. Interested candidates should submit an appointee profile to the Franklin City Manager’s Office.
