Open City Positions
The City of Franklin, NH (pop. 8500) is accepting applications for the position of Assessing Technician. Working under the broad supervision of the city manager, this position works directly with the City’s contract assessing service, Avitar Associates. Major duties include maintenance of the computer assisted mass appraisal system (CAMA), maintenance of gravel, excavation, timber, yield, current use, tax increment financing, exemption, credit, perpetual files, deed transfers, building permit changes, and sale record books. Generates property tax warrants, assists with the generation of the MS-1 and other clerical functions of the office.
The Assessing Technician must be highly organized, detail oriented, possess good customer service skills, be able to work independently and maintain confidentiality. High school graduate required, 2 year post-secondary education and municipal experience desired; however, any equivalent combination of education or experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge skills and abilities will be considered.

Municipal Services Department
The City of Franklin has three full time job openings as follows:
- The Mechanical Division is seeking a qualified Mechanic with a salary range of $15.39-$20.19 and requires a Class B Commercial Driver’s License to qualify.
- The Water Department has a vacancy for a Light Equipment Operator with a salary range of $13.00-$17.06 and requires a Class B Commercial Driver’s License to qualify.
- The Buildings and Grounds Division has a position open for a Buildings and Grounds Custodian with a salary range of $12.17-$15.97.
Applicants must live within a one half hour driving radius to the City of Franklin and overtime is required for each position.

Firefighter AEMT/I or Paramedic
The City of Franklin has an anticipated opening for a Full-Time Advanced EMT or Paramedic. We are looking for a highly motivated individual that will demonstrate their commitment to our city, our residents and department.
Franklin is a department that consists of 17 full time members that work a 24 hour rotating schedule as well as 21 on-call members that responded to 1,981 incidents in 2016.
- 18 years of age
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Licensed provider to the level of AEMT
- New Hampshire CDL with Tank and Air Brake endorsement
- New Hampshire Firefighter II
- Current CPAT certificate or Lateral transfer of full-time career personnel pursuant to State of New Hampshire Administrative Rule 703.01
- Associates Degree or higher
- Residency within 30 minute travel of the Franklin Fire Station.

The City of Franklin is seeking volunteer citizens to fill a vacancy as a Supervisor of the Checklist for Ward 2 and a Supervisor of the Checklist for Ward 3. This position is an elected position and has many important responsibilities and deadlines; knowledge of election laws and procedures is a plus. Attendance at all Elections is required and attendance at supervisor sessions that are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the Election season.
