A message from City Manager Judie Milner

Good Afternoon Franklin,

Have you ever wondered why the annual budget document is over 200 pages? Where exactly is the "meat" of the budget? Why does the bottom line budget vary so much from year to year? Don't we have a tax cap? Do we have long term plans? Is bonding breaking the tax cap? Why is the budget so different at year end than what was approved at the beginning of the year? What the heck is a TIF? Who's watching this stuff anyway?

These and other questions will be answered in a public forum presentation of "Budget 101" this Wednesday evening, April 19th, at 6pm in city hall. Come and educate yourself ahead of the FY2024 budget season beginning in May 2023.

See you there!

Judie Milner
