Hey Franklin!

Mini parade

There are many cultures and belief systems that believe evil spirits can be driven off by loud noise.

Today, the City of Franklin did just that, at least for a brief period.

This morning, while observing social distancing and wearing masks and gloves, many community members, school teachers, staff and administration, and members of the police and fire departments participated in 5 mini-parades throughout the city.

The five school buses used to distribute meals to students throughout the city were followed by police cruisers, fire trucks and an ambulance as well as a large number of personally owned vehicles (POVs) festooned with balloons, hand-made signs of encouragement, and cheering folks (and pets).

The cruisers and fire apparatus provided a liberal dose of sirens and air horns to the parade of vehicles. The POVs topped the processions with beeping horns. Everyone who either participated or watched from the sidelines enjoyed the spectacle.

We dare any evil COVID spirit to challenge that!! At least for some time we were able to exclaim with authority-” Be gone evil spirits” and they left.

Have a wonderful day, keep that social distance, and please be safe!!
