Get Involved: Help Protect Franklin's Groundwater

The City of Franklin is working with New Hampshire Water Works Association and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services to implement a Groundwater Protection Ordinance. This locally administered regulation will protect Franklin’s drinking water through thoughtful land use planning and policy. The City is also working with the Town of Sanbornton because a public water supply owned by the City of Franklin is located within the Town of Sanbornton, and would be better protected if they adopt a similar ordinance.

A draft of the Groundwater Protection Ordinance will be presented to the Franklin Planning Board and the City Council for adoption in 2023. The City of Franklin wants to hear from residents, business owners, and community leaders like you! Be a part of this process by completing the Franklin Groundwater Protection Survey https://bit.ly/FranklinGWSurvey. Stay tuned for other ways to get involved and for an opportunity to review the draft Groundwater Protection Ordinance.
