City SPIRIT Invitation

Dear Friend,

I would like to personally invite you to be part of a special community-building program on Saturday, April 6th from 9:00am - 3:00pm at the Bessie Rowell Community Center. This free one-day program will bring together a range of community members and leaders to identify issues that impact Franklin and begin to develop solutions together.

The program is called a SPIRIT of Community Program. It is sponsored by a citizen volunteer group of Franklin residents in partnership with the Department of Justice (DOJ) Community Relations Service out of Boston.

The DOJ Community Relations Service has partnered with communities around the U.S. to offer SPIRIT programs that promote dialogue to build stronger and more resilient communities. SPIRIT stands for community Site Problem Identification and Resolution of Issues Together.

The goal of the SPIRIT of Community program is not dialogue for dialogue's sake nor a forum to discuss city funding or political issues, but rather to identify what’s working well in our city; what’s not working well and to begin to identify collaborative solutions for meaningful change.

Registration for this program is required. The flyer with registration information can be found here.

Join us on April 6th to help create the community you want to see in Franklin and where everyone feels welcome.  Do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions or suggestions.

Celebrating community,

Jo Brown, Member
Franklin Spirit Committee
