to be a member of one of the city commissions or boards. OPENINGS NOW OR IN THE NEAR FUTURE: Conservation Commission - The conservation commission currently has an opening available. For information, please contact the City Manager's Office, at (603) 934-3900. You must reside in the City of Franklin. If you are interested, please fill out the Board and Commission Prospective Appointee Profile sheet located above. CIP Committee - The CIP Committee currently has an opening available. For information, please contact the City Manager's Office, at (603) 934-3900. You must reside in the City of Franklin. If you are interested, please fill out the Board and Commission Prospective Appointee Profile sheet located above. Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) – hear & decide appeals in enforcement of the zoning ordinance Planning Board – prepare & amend master plan, recommend amendment to the zoning ordinance or map, “carry out purposes of RSAs”. helpful to have knowledge in one or more of following areas: planning, architecture, engineering, construction, safety, transportation issues Heritage Commission – Mission is to Inventory, Preserve, Protect, and Promote the History, Heritage, and Historic Resources of Franklin, New Hampshire. Necessary for appointment - knowledge of local history, architecture, preservation and/or business (or willingness to learn) & willingness to put in some additional hours. Highway Safety Committee – Meets to determine city action for our roads. Ex: Is a stop sign needed, does a speed limit need to be changed, do we need an additional crosswalk, etc. You may fill out the form located on the Service Opportunities page and submit it to the City Manager or you can go to the city managers office in City Hall/Opera House and ask for the Prospective Appointee Profile. Requested information includes your name and contact info, what commission you are interested in and why you could be an asset. You may also call 934-3900 and ask for an application to be mailed to you. Be sure to return the completed application to the same office. |
