Who would I contact if water was bubbling up in the street, if there was a water main break or if I had no water at my house?

During normal working hours (Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm), call the MSD office at 603-934-4103.  After normal business hours call the Franklin Police Department at 603-934-2535.

If I have a pool and fill it from a hose connected to my house water line, do I get a credit/rebate towards my water and sewer bill?

No.

When will I get my water bill?

Water bills are mailed out quarterly.  There are three different cycles that we bill in different months.  For your particular billing months contact the MSD office at 603-934-4103 or email bsullivan@franklinnh.org.

Who do I contact about getting a final water meter reading because I am selling my house?

You or your realtor or bank representative should call the MSD office at 603-934-4103 48 hours prior to your closing date in order for us to get a meter reading from your house.  If you call less than 48 hours before you need a reading, there is a fee of $40.00.

Who do I contact to report a street light out?

You can contact the MSD office at 603-934-4103 during normal working hours, or email bsullivan@franklinnh.org.  We need to know the street address and/or the public service telephone pole number.  MSD can report it to Public Service.

When is the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day?

This is held on the last Saturday in July every year.  In Franklin, it is held at the MSD maintenance garage area located on West Bow Street from 8am to 12 noon.

How do I dispose of paint?

For latex paint (water based), stir it up with sand or cat litter and leave the cover off until the paint hardens.  You can then dispose of the paint at the Franklin transfer station.  For oil or lead based paint, save it and bring it to the household hazardous waste collection day on the last Saturday in July.

What are the hours of the Transfer Station?

Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30am to 3:00pm.  The transfer station is closed on holidays.  The transfer station is located on Punch Brook Road off of Rte. 3 approximately 2.2 miles west of the ward 1 bridge.

When there is a holiday, when will my trash be picked up?

When the holiday is on a Monday, trash pickup for Monday and Tuesday (for that week) will be picked up on Tuesday.  When the holiday is on a Tuesday, trash pickup for Tuesday and Wednesday (for that week) will be on Wednesday.  When the holiday is on Wednesday, trash pickup for Wednesday and Thursday (for that week) will be on Thursday.  When a holiday is on a Thursday, trash pickup for Thursday and Friday (for that week) will be on Friday.  When the holiday is on a Friday, trash pickup for Thursday and Friday (of that week) will be on Thursday.

***For the Thanksgiving Holiday, City offices are closed on Thursday and Friday of the Thanksgiving week, therefore trash pickup for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will ALL be picked up on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
