The Upper
Merrimack River Local Advisory Committee (UMRLAC) is looking for
concerned citizens of Franklin to fill two vacant seats as Franklin
Representatives. UMRLAC is a committee of volunteers from the
communities of Northfield, Franklin, Boscawen, Bow, Canterbury, and
Concord. All representatives are appointed through their local
governments. A description of our duties and responsibilities can be

Annual Leaf Pick-up
Annual leaf pick-up will begin in the City of
Franklin beginning Monday, November 9, 2009. Leaves should be raked to
the edge of the road and be free of all other debris. Leaf pick-up will
begin on Monday’s garbage route and will take approximately one month to
complete the entire City. Bagged leaves that are put at the edge of the
right-of-way will also be collected beginning November 9, 2009.
Residents are encouraged to haul their leaves
to the Transfer Station where there is a designated area for leaf
disposal. By doing this, it saves the Municipal Services Department a
great deal of time and enables us to perform other tasks in preparation
of the winter season.
