NOTICE OF TWO JOB OPENINGS
LIGHT EQUIPMENT OPERATORS
Water Department and Sewer Department
The Municipal Services Department has two full time job openings for Light Equipment Operators in the Water and Sewer Divisions.
Minimum Qualifications: Good physical condition to work in the out of doors in varying weather conditions; possession of a New Hampshire CDL Class B commercial drivers license required, with a clean driving record; and, a minimum of two years experience operating trucks and other types of light motorized equipment. Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment physical examination pertinent to the position’s job description, random Drug & Alcohol testing and a successful background check. Must reside within one half hour driving distance of the City limits.
Characteristics of Positions: Both positions participate in the maintenance and upkeep of the City Water and Sewer Departments. Employees will be cross trained. Examples of tasks involve work on the City's Water Distribution and Sewer Collection Systems, including water quality sampling; inspection and maintenance of pumping stations; groundwater well operations; regular interior and exterior building maintenance; installation and reading of water meters; semi annual hydrant flushing; jetrodding and CATV of sewer lines and various types of pipe installation and repair. Candidates are "required" to respond to emergencies during off hours; assist the Highway Division with Winter Snow and Ice Control Operations and take "on-call" duties which are rotated amongst the
six water/sewer division employees on a weekly basis.
The ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, dependability and willingness to advance in both of Franklin's Water and Sewer Utilility Departments. Familiarity with PLC's and Scada Systems and knowledge of utility construction preferred.
Possession of a Level 1 NH Public Water System Operators Certification in Distribution and Treatment (or must obtain within one year from the date of hire) is necessary to maintain in the City's employ and will be a definite requirement to come off of the employees probationary period.
Salary Range $26,842 to $32,325, commensurate with experience plus a generous benefits package.
