Franklin Mayor’s Drug and Alcohol Task Force

Coordinator Position (Project Manager)
32hrs per week

The City of Franklin seeks a Part-Time 32 hrs per week Coordinator (Project Manager) for the Drug Free Communities (DFC) grant.  This is a partially benefited position which includes single health insurance coverage and prorated vacation and sick time.

Applicants must have the skills to manage a project including grant reporting and budget tracking.  Meeting facilitation skills and the ability to build and sustain membership in the taskforce is a must.  Applicants must have strong communication skills both written and verbal to engage all sectors of the community.  Applicants must have the skills to manage a project including grant reporting and budget tracking.  Meeting facilitation skills and the ability to build and sustain membership in the taskforces is a must.  Applicants must have strong communication skills both written and verbal to engage all sector of the community.  Applicants must have schedule flexibility (state travel and occasional national travel is required).  Applicants should be able to multi-task and work independently.  Dependable transportation is required.   The person chosen for this position will work under the supervision of the City Manager who is the Program Director for this grant and oversees all City employees and the Mayor’s Task Force Chairperson.  The Coordinator’s primary purpose is to support the goals and objectives of the Franklin Mayor’s Drug and Alcohol Task Force.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in Management, Social Work, Public Health, or Education.  Salary range is $19.96 to $26.04 per hour with partial benefited package as stated above.

PART-TIME PATROL SECRETARY

Parks & Recreation Program Coordinator

The City of Franklin Parks and Recreation Department seeks a qualified individual for the position of Program Coordinator.  The Program Coordinator helps plan, organize, implement, supervise, and evaluate both year-round and summer programs and activities for all ages and abilities.  The Coordinator must be a team player with the ability to juggle assignments and multi-task, and coordinates with various community organizations. Additional responsibilities include park improvements/maintenance.

This is a part-time, year round position averaging 25 hours of work per week (40 hours per week during the summer) including evening and weekend hours and occasional holidays.  Associate’s degree preferred in recreation or closely related field and one to three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary range $12.17 to $15.97 per hour.  Initial review of applications will be on August 15th, 2016 but position will remain open until filled.

Additional responsibilities include oversight and implementation of additional programs and activities within the Recreation Department.

CUSTODIAL-GROUNDS KEEPER

The City of Franklin, Municipal Services Department seeks a qualified individual for the position of Custodial – Grounds Keeper.  The Custodial Maintenance Worker~performs a variety of janitorial duties at the Bessie Rowell Community Center. Duties include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, operating carpet cleaning and floor waxing machines, cleaning/sanitizing restrooms, cleaning up spills, emptying trash containers and performing minor maintenance, and other duties as assigned. Employees in this position receive specific directions, but carry out tasks independently. Job assignments vary and may include evening/nights and weekend shifts.~Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and on irregular terrain.~ May lift or otherwise move heavy items~on a regular basis.~ Computer literate and good planning, organizational and social skills required of this position along with a demonstrated track record with respect to reliability and good attendance.  

This is a full-time, year round, benefited position.  One year of recent (within the last 5 years) paid experience in janitorial work required, including experience operating carpet cleaning and floor waxing machines, mixing chemical cleaners and performing bio-hazard clean up.  Employment contingent upon passing a criminal background check, drug test and must have a valid driver’s license.  Salary range $12.17 to $15.97 per hour.  Initial review of applications will be on June 15th, 2016 but position will remain open until filled.

FRANKLIN SUPERVISOR OF THE CHECKLIST VACANCY FOR WARD 2

The City of Franklin is seeking a volunteer citizen to fill a vacancy as a Supervisor of the Checklist for Ward 2. This position is an elected position and has many important responsibilities and deadlines; knowledge of election laws and procedures is a plus. Attendance at all Elections is required and attendance at supervisor sessions that are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the Election season. Applicants must be able to dedicate extra time after the Elections to finalize the Checklist.  Applicants also must be a registered voter and a Ward 2 resident.

The Franklin Fire Department is seeking motivated and energetic individuals to join our team of community service responders. Successful candidates will fill positions on our Call Company. On Call members are needed for response to larger incidents to assist with mitigation and support. These positions demand commitment and dedication.

These are paid positions:
Non- Certified- $7.25 per hour
Certified- $15.59 per hour
These positions will remain open until filled with qualified candidates.

Qualified candidates must:

1.      Be 18 years of age
2.      At least a High School Graduate or GED
3.      Possess valid NH Driver’s license
4.      Successfully complete interview process
5.      Successfully pass criminal background check
6.      Be prepared to attend at least 2 night trainings per month (Wednesday nights)
7.      Live within 5.5 miles of the Franklin Fire Station
