Buildings and Grounds Working Foreman
The City of Franklin, N.H., Municipal Service Department, has an immediate opening for a "Buildings and Grounds Working Foreman" within its Buildings and Grounds Division it is a full time, non union, supervisory position that currently meets the job qualifications included in the job description.
High School Diploma or GED. The candidate for this position must have a level of experience similar to that of a "Property Manager" for Governmental Buildings or an "Agency" consisting of multiple complexes. Franklin staff maintains ten large and numerous smaller municipal buildings. The position requires skills in but not limited to troubleshooting electrical systems, security cameras, HVAC systems: ability to perform plumbing repairs; basic carpentry skills; procurement of building supplies; supervision of contractual work; exterior maintenance of buildings and parks including snow and ice removal. Knowledge of State and Local Building Codes and State of New Hampshire Statutes and Certifications necessary to maintain safe occupancy.
Primary importance is that the candidate possess good public relations skills and be proficient in presenting and conveying information both orally, electronically and in writing. Qualifications for the position vary. Individuals must have a minimum of ten years of progressive experience in the building trades with at least four of those years being in a supervisory capacity role OR any combination of education, training and experience.

The City of Franklin (pop. 8,500) seeks a dynamic, creative, and experienced Welfare Director to manage the City's Welfare Department. This position is a 30hr per week position and holds office hours Monday-Thurs 8am till 1pm and noon- till 5pm Friday plus five hrs a week with flexible times to allow for processing of paperwork, etc. Under the broad supervision of the City Manager, the Welfare Director uses his/her own technical judgment and outlined City, State, and Federal welfare laws to determine applicant’s eligibility for assistance. Successful candidates will possess knowledge of City, state and federal laws dealing with welfare programs. Knowledge of resources available for people in need as well as some knowledge of court procedures is helpful. Detailed record keeping and follow through is crucial. Completion of a 4 year college program in social work, counseling, psychology, or administration is desired but not required; any equivalent combination of education or experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge skills and abilities will be considered.

Coordinator Position (Project Manager)

The City of Franklin seeks a Part-Time 32 hrs per week Coordinator (Project Manager) for the Drug Free Communities (DFC) grant. This is a partially benefited position which includes single health insurance coverage and prorated vacation and sick time.

This is a part-time, year round position averaging 25 hours of work per week (40 hours per week during the summer) including evening and weekend hours and occasional holidays. Associate’s degree preferred in recreation or closely related field and one to three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. On Call members are needed for response to larger incidents to assist with mitigation and support. These positions demand commitment and dedication.

Non- Certified- $7.25 per hour
Certified- $15.59 per hour
